The Refiner ❤️

Firstly, let me apologise for my long absence. I didn’t mean to stay away for so long but life got ahead of me. I have actually written quite a number of articles but I just never got around to dropping them. I’m truly sorry. These next couple of months go choke with blogposts. I promise. I really hope you missed me but above all, I hope you’re good. Do reply. I really want to know how you’re doing❤️

There’s this song I sing almost everyday. It’s in my top 3 Christian songs list and it’s definitely not number 3. It’s practically the theme song of my life and with the frequency at which I sing it, it was quite surprising that a line in the song jumped out at me and held the front of my shirt in a demanding manner. Like I sing you everyday. Why now?

The song is quite popular and there are a few versions of it. My favourite is the Dante Bowie version though (my coworker prefers the Bethel Music one 🙄). I won’t say the title but you can do small homework to find it. The lyrics of the second verse goes “I love Your voice. You have led me through the fire. In darkest nights, You are close like no other. I’ve known You as a Father. I’ve known You as a friend. I have lived in the goodness of God”. For me, it was the YOU HAVE LED ME THROUGH THE FIRE. It sat in my heart with so much magnitude.

You see, the song didn’t say “You quenched the fire for me to pass through” neither did it say “You took me on another route away from the fire”. It specifically spoke about God leading us through it. A verse in the book of Isaiah says “When you walk through fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you.” Every time I read that verse, I jokingly call myself Abednego cos duhh increase the flames!!!!! But singing that song today thoroughly comforted me because life is the ultimate WWE champion and it keeps kicking my butt without remorse especially when I’m already down but irrespective of it all, God is with me. Emmanuel, baby!

One thing about fire is that when harnessed well, it can be used to purify most elements and make them malleable. God leading us through the fire simply shows that He is making us into that Christain He has first called us to be. He is purifying our hearts and shaping us in the way we would be of most service to Him. Whether as a knife, a spoon, a bucket, the parts of a car engine, He is preparing us for the service ahead.

That being said, remember also that fire can be quite destructive. I am not asking you to jump head first into all fiery situations in hopes that you would be moulded into that unique object. Remember, the line said “You have led me through the fire” and not “I have walked through the fire”. Let God do the leading so you don’t end up losing your life or suffering first degree burns for nothing. Skin grafting is quite expensive and dollar ti won.

With these few points of mine, I hope I’ve been able to convince you and not confuse you that e go better. No matter how hard beans be, e go still soft one day. Also, be comforted by the fact that your Heavenly Father is beside you saying “Sorry. Sorry. Dun cry. Oya pass here”.

Till we meet again (which probably would be when Ore decides to bully me in a few weeks to drop another blogpost) remember, I am constantly rooting for you❤️

P.S: My friend is been led by the Spirit of God to intercede for people. If you have prayer points (no matter how large or small), kindly send them to lambopraysforyou@gmail.com and while you’re at it, say a short prayer of strength for her.

I love you so much. Thank you for sticking with me irrespective of my skoin skoin❤️

“And all my life You have been faithful, And all my life You have been so, so good, With every breath that I am able. Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God”

That’s the chorus of the song

Thank you so much for this blogpost
